Haiku --- Lenora Good


Like thin chocolate
the Rio Grande pours past me
            I thirst.

Dragonflies
tango above the water
            tiny scarlet flames.


Thor's hammer bounces
across the clouds—
            puppy shakes in fear.


Why is it easier
to accept my death
            than yours?
